Consultant CFO – Permanent Role

About the Role
We are recruiting a Consultant to deliver interim and project‑based assignments for our clients in Sweden and across Europe.
We are seeking an experienced, internationally-focussed self-reliant finance leader who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys variety and can operate and build trust with the C-Suite, Boards and investors.
Assignments typically include;
- Interim CFO/FD roles
- Finance transformation and change programmes
- Carve‑outs, integrations and M&A support (Tier 1, Tier 2)
- Strategic financial leadership for scale‑ups, mid‑market companies and international groups
- Short specialist projects within our own group (finance, operations, business development)
Main Duties & Responsibilities Lead or support carve‑outs, integrations, mergers, transitional services agreements and acquisitions.
Responsibilities will include;
- Drive finance transformation, process improvement and organisational change
- Represent the finance function in Board meetings and investor discussions
- Provide strategic financial advice to CEOs, Boards and senior management; mentor and support the wider business
- Lead and oversee the full finance function for client organisations, including accounting, reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow management & forecasting
- Ensure high‑quality financial reporting under IFRS, FRS 102 or local reporting as applicable
- Strengthen governance, internal controls, risk management and compliance
- Oversee or coordinate related functions such as IT, HR and payroll where required by the external client
- Lead small internal projects within the AB (e.g., process development, systems, business initiatives)
- Collaborate with colleagues, investors and DA AB’s network across Europe and the USA to build client relationships
- Promote best practice in sustainability reporting, data‑driven decision‑making and responsible business
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, business, economics or related field
- Professional accounting qualification: CPA, ACA (FCA), CIMA or equivalent
- Higher qualification such as MBA or an MSc in a relevant discipline
Required Experience
- 15 years-plus post‑qualification experience in senior finance, accounting and management roles
- Experience across multiple sectors, ideally including fintech, aviation, manufacturing or related industries
- Proven ability to operate at CFO/FD level and work directly with Boards and investors
- Strong background in:
- Finance transformation
- Carve‑outs, integrations and M&A
- Change management
- Process improvement and systems development
- International experience required, some US exposure preferred
- Experience with IFRS
- Fluent and articulate in English; working ability in at least one additional European language
- Comfortable working in non-hierarchical organisations with high autonomy
